GU 111 Mass Ave was a large-scale design-assist project delivered in partnership with Whiting-Turner. Through the design-assist process, FBH worked closely with the design team to collaboratively develop the contract documents, ensuring constructability and efficiency from early design through execution. The 245,000-square-foot building spanned 13 floors, including two underground parking levels. The project scope included four new electrical services ranging from 1,000A to 4,000A, two parallel 500kW generators located in the penthouse, two electrical busway risers, 29 transformers, and 146 electrical panels. In addition, the project featured completely new lighting and lighting control systems, fire alarm systems, and electrical metering throughout the facility.
